A simple question from a Westerville, Ohio athlete – “Can you help me raise money?” – sparked a journey that would change the landscape of women’s bobsledding worldwide. Through relentless determination, strategic fundraising and an unwavering commitment to success, Stew played the key role in developing a team that ultimately secured the first-ever Olympic gold medal in women’s bobsledding at the 2002 Winter Games. Beyond finance, Stew has always been deeply committed to his community. For more than three decades, he played a pivotal role in shaping the city’s direction, serving as Westerville Mayor, Westerville City Councilman and a Blendon Township Trustee. His efforts earned him the title of Westerville’s Citizen of the Year^* in 1993, along with the President’s Award* in recognition of his impact.

A lifelong learner and adventurer, Stew thrives on new experiences. He is a lifetime member of MENSA, a world traveler, photographer, gardener, hockey player, coach and even a beekeeper.
