Tamara has never been one to settle for a single success. Her career is a testament to persistence and passion, fueling lasting impact. She has built a path defined by adaptability, problem-solving and a deep commitment to serving others.
Her professional journey began in the financial services industry during the 1980s and 1990s, where she worked alongside Stew and Tami at LPL Financial. There, she held FINRA Series 7, 24 and 63 securities registrations and played a pivotal role in developing a successful recruiting program that helped fuel the firm’s expansion. Her ability to connect with people, solve problems, and lead with integrity made her a respected figure within the organization.
Later, she shifted her focus to family, relocating from San Diego to Newark, Delaware, where she raised her three children, Bryan, Natalie and Jonathan. When the time was right for a new chapter, she pursued her lifelong passion for caregiving, earning her BSN from Wilmington University and becoming a nurse. While working at Christiana Hospital, she recognized an urgent need among homeless and indigent patients, leading her to establish a clothing closet that has since blossomed into a thriving program, supported by hospital staff and businesses like FlahertyColvin. Seeing the joy that comes from receiving a new pair of shoes or fresh clothing has been a powerful reminder that even the smallest gestures can restore dignity and hope.
As her children reached college age and beyond, Tamara began to consider what was next. A longtime client of FlahertyColvin, she had followed Stew and Tami’s careers and wondered if there might be a place for her back with that team in the financial services industry. There was. Seeing an opportunity to bring her unique blend of expertise back to financial services, she stepped into a role that fits her skillset perfectly.
Now living in Westerville, Ohio, Tamara balances her time between her role at FlahertyColvin and her nursing work at OhioHealth. Outside of her professional pursuits, she enjoys reading, creating mixed media artwork and doting on her two rescued Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, Lacy and Penny.
Whether she’s helping clients, supporting patients in moments of vulnerability or giving back to her community, Tamara leads with heart, wisdom and a steadfast commitment to making a difference – across careers, across communities and across multiple generations.
